Mrs. E. J. (Mantie D) Webb

Mrs. E. J. Webb (Mantie D) Webb, 73, died at her home in Downsville at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Dr. J. M. Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, 3 sons; Earl F. Hooks, Bentley C. Hooks and Kenneth M. Webb all of Waco; two daughters , Mrs. Harry R. Pearson of Dallas and Mrs. Miller C. Belding of Waco; two step-daughters, Mrs. Steve Kennerly of Austin and Mrs. Viola Martin of Waco; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Webb was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Hooks, Sr. of Waco and the granddaughter of the late B. D. Arnold who was one of the charter members of the First Baptist Church.

Includes a lengthly list of pallbearer and honorary pallbearers.

Mantie D's two sons from her marriage to John Henry Puckett were Earl Fayne Hooks, FAG # 73042890 and Bentley Carroll Hooks, FAG # 11423432. There names were changed from Puckett to Hooks in 1896.
