Chesapeake - Viola Brooks of the 3000 Block of Fireside Road passed away July 7, 2008 at Chesapeake General Hospital.

She was born in Scotland Neck, NC to the late Henry Johnson and Ellen Baker.

Viola was a cafeteria worker for Chesapeake Public Schools and was a member of New Galilee Baptist Church in Chesapeake.

She is survived by two daughters, Catherine White Heckstall and Barbara Ayers both of Chesapeake; four sons, Edward Lee Brooks, Curtis Brooks, Ronnie Brooks and Randolph Brooks all of Chesapeake; one sister, Luella Maples of Norfolk; one brother, Frank "Joe" Johnson of Chesapeake; twenty grandchildren; thirty-seven great grandchildren; a host of great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 1pm at New Galilee Baptist Church, Chesapeake with Rev. Foreman presiding. Burial Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family received guests and lined up at 1216 Drayton Court in Chesapeake. Danielle M. Fitchett-funeral director
