Allen, Frank N. age 89, of Excelsior, passed away on 7/14/ 2008. Preceded in death by his wife, Jean Louise Allen; parents, Benjamin and Cornelia Allen and siblings, Paul, Fuller, Jon and Luther Allen. Survived by sister, Carlene Raper and children, Rose Allen (Gary Jurek), Carl (Cathy) Allen, Philip (Sue) Allen and Mark Allen; grandchildren, Erick and Mark Allen, Paul and Anna Rose Jurek, Ryan Engelke, Brandon and Rianna Allen and many other loving relatives and friends. Frank was a WWII Army vet and served 2 years in New Guinea. He was a salesman of insurance products, traveling 4 states for the Rough Notes Co. for over 30 years. Frank enjoyed an active life, sailing on Lake Minnetonka, skiing the Midwest and the Rockies, playing tennis, traveling abroad and raising flowers and vegetables. He loved singing, dancing and touring Excelsior on his scooter. Memorial visitation 5:00-7:30 PM Monday, July 21, with a program at 6:30 PM at Huber Funeral Chapel, 520 2nd Street, Excelsior. Interment, Riverside Cemetery, Plattsburgh, New York. Memorials preferred to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
