Marine to finally come home
Cook, LCPL Joseph Francis, USMC, age 19, native of Foxboro, was killed in action May 10, 1968 in the Quang Tin Province Republic of Vietnam. LCPL Cook’s remains were recently identified and returned to his family for burial. Joseph was the son of the late Cornelius P. and Eva M. (Bellavance) Cook. Loving brother of Bertram M. and his wife Barbara Cook of Mansfield, John H. Cook, Sally Cunningham and Patricia and her husband Phillip Merriam, all of OR.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 10 am at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. Only immediate family and their guests will be permitted in the funeral home. All are invited to participate in the funeral procession which will commence at 10:30 am. All marching units please report to the Foxboro Town Hall parking lot by 9:30 am. Funeral procession will conclude at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mechanic Street, Foxboro where committal prayers and Marine Corps Honors will be conducted. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
