Obituary:
James Orville (J.O.) Young was born to Orville and Bessie Young at Arsansas Pass, Texas, December 25, 1915. He passed away at his home in Okmulgee, May 2, 1984.

At an early age he moved with his parents from Texas to Crawford, Okla., where he grew up and graduated from high school. He attended college at Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma University.

On July 14, 1940, he married Irene Garrison at Sayre, Oklahoma. They resided at Borger, Texas where he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. He transferred to the Phillips Refinery in 1952, and was employed at Oklahoma City Refinery until his retirement in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Irene, of the home; his daughter, Bette Branscum and her son, James of Tulsa. Also surviving are one sister, Mildred Love, Borger, Texas, and two brothers, Clair Young, Bethany OK, and Willard Young, Crawford OK.

Services were held at Crawford, Oklahoma. Interment in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Oklahoma on May 5, 1984 by Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
