Amanda was married to James Willson Young on 15 Oct 1872 in El Paso Co, CO. She was a midwife/nurse. Many times being called out in the night to minister to the sick even though her training was not significant — she had a calming way that helped others. She & James had 7 children: Milton Boid, Otis Clifford, Orville Alva, Claude Elbridge, Nellie Adleena (Young) Thompson, Purl Mack, and Mildred Laverne (Young) Curry. Amanda was ill and her family came to Florida to drive her to Oklahoma. She died on the trip.

Parents were living in Layfatte Co, WI from 1849-1855 per censuses.
