OBITUARY:

Thomas E. Goff

Thomas E. Goff, 71, of Terre Haute died Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 16, 2005, in his residence. He was a sheet metal worker from 1969 to 1995, working at several locations and retiring from Hartman Co., where he had worked for more than 15 years.

He was born July 10, 1934, in Sullivan to Ivan Pearl Goff and Carmen Hildred Shanks Goff. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Marlene Harney Goff, whom he married Dec. 4, 1982, and who died March 3, 1999.

He is survived by seven stepsons; two stepdaughters; 20 stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and his former wife and best friend, Betty L. Chatham. He also was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War on the USS Bon Homricard. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972, American Legion Post 346 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks

Private family services are scheduled in Roselawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
