She was raised and educated in Lava Hot Springs, graduating from Lava Hot Springs High School. She had lived in Dempsey, Grace, and in Soda Springs for the past 50 years.
She was a member of the Soda Springs LDS Second Ward, and had taught in the Primary, served as chorister, in the Primary presidency and the Relief Society presidency. She had also served in the community on the election committee, and was a member of the DUP. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, writing and playing the piano.
Aney is survived by her husband, Kenneth Chatterton, of Soda Springs; and three daughters and their spouses, Bonnie and Carl Hess, Pocatello, ID, Gwen and Billy England, Houston, TX, and Linda Chatterton Carpenter, Logan, UT; also 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother and one sister, Darrell Byington, Tacoma, WA and Lola Galloway, Blanding, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mayona Nelson.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at the Soda Springs Stake Center, with Bishop Stanley Dorius officiating. Burial was in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
