OBITUARY :
PERCY G. (PAT) BYERS, SR., 75, of 141 Briar Ridge Drive, Waynesboro, died at 9:17 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 1993, in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. Death was unexpected and attributed to a stroke he suffered on Dec. 24.

Born March 8, 1918, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late John Francis and Pearl Snowberger Byers. He lived most of his life in the Waynesboro area, and for a short time in Pen Mar, Md.

Mr. Byers lived at the present residence for the past 23 years.

He was a floor assembler at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, for 45 years, and retired in December 1981.

He was a member of the Rouzerville United Methodist Church.

He also was a member of the national AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Della Pauline (See) Byers; three sons, Percy G. Byers, Jr. of Waynesboro, Albert Halterman of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Melvin Halterman of Cascade; three daughters, Deloris PattersonDeloris Patterson of Waynesboro, Junia Warthen of Emmitsburg and Nancy Paxton of Chambersburg; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Rella J. Zearfoss of Dover, Mabel Kinley of Waynesboro and Lula "Susie" Worley of Burlington, N.C.

He was preceded in death by: a sister, Opal Forsythe; and two brothers, Claude Byers and David Byers.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wendesday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Pastor Prue Yelinek officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Wednesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201
