Mrs. Sarah Stevens Finster died Thursday evening, June 10, 1943 at the family home just north of Pulaski at Maltby’s Corners, on the North Road, after a long illness. She was born in the town of Orwell, June 18, 1871, daughter of Edward and Orilla Dennison Stevens, descendants of early settlers of that township. Except for 15 years spent in the middle west she always had lived in the vicinity of Pulaski and Orwell.
She was a life member of the Methodist church and a member of the Pulaski church societies. She was also active in the grange Daughters of Union Veterans and the Rebekahs.
Surviving besides her husband, Lewis H. Finster, are one son, H. Dey Finster, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter of Pulaski and one brother, Giles Stevens of Orwell.
Funeral services were held at the family home at 1 p. m. Saturday with Rev. W. A. Gardner officiating Burial was in Evergreen cemetery, Orwell.
