Mrs. Scovel died of a heart ailment Monday at the Commonwealth Care Center, 5608 S.W. Ninth Street, after a three month illness.
Born in Fountain Grove, Mo., Mrs Scovel lived in Des Moines since 1913. She was member of the Elderberry Senior Citizen's Club and the Woodland Hills Church.
Survivors include five sons, John, Raymond and Frank all of Des Moines, Elmer of West Des Moines and Jack of Barber, Ark; two daughters, Mrs. Irene Williams of Des Moines and Mrs. Bernice Conrad of Indianola; a brother, Elmer Hastins of Adrian, Mo. 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
