Anchorage resident Danny W. Amox, 52, died Dec. 12, 1999, at Third Medical Group Hospital on Elmendorf Air Force Base. A service and visitation were held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E St. Burial with honors followed at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

Mr. Amox was born May 10, 1947, in Alice, Texas, and graduated from Magnum Oklahoma High School. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army, earning many honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Rifle, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. Mr. Amox later worked as a police officer. He moved to Alaska in 1993. He enjoyed hunting and sportfishing. He also loved wolves and collected wolf memorabilia. His family said: ''He was a very loving uncle and was always there for anyone who needed help. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.''

Mr. Amox is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry Sr. and Peggy Amox of Kodiak; nephew, Larry Amox Jr. of Kodiak; nieces, Donna Amox of Anchorage, Noel Amox of San Antonio, Texas, and Vicky Muncy and her husband Robert of Palmer; father, Elvis; and other family members in Oklahoma, Texas and elsewhere in the Lower 48.


He is the son of Joseph Dee Amox and Ruby Colleen Chambless.

He married Linda Darlene Martin 20 Dec 1966, Collingsworth Co., TX. He also married a Carol and a Janie.
