Mayme K. Aarni, 87, of Phoenix, Ariz., died June 10, 2006. A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 14 at 2 p.m. at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix. Memorial contribution may be made to the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church 1500 West Maryland Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85015.
Mayme was born Jan. 31, 1919 at Roubaix to John Henry and Senja Salmo and graduated from Deadwood High School. She was an employee of the Department of Interior and retired after working 24 years. She moved to Arizona in 1963 and was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church as well as volunteering at the Washington Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William H. Aarni. seven sisters and three brothers.
