Lydia Simpson was born in Mound Valley, Kansas in June 1880 to Peter and Mary Simpson. They traveled from Sweden to Boston, Mass. by ship and settled in Mound Valley, Kansas in 1872. Lydia married Charles M. Sullivan in the Northern District of Indian Territory Dec. 17, 1902. They had one child, Thelma.


Lydia married Fred Clausner in Oswego, Labette Co., Kansas Feb 15, 1907. He was a glass blower. They had one child, Christine Helen.


She died in Ada, Okla. at the home of her daughter, Thelma Holley, who lovingly cared for her for several years following a stroke.
