Jeff was born to Jesse and Nadine (Cain) Bullen on January 2, 1961. From an early age, Jeff ("Bullhead" to his friends) was an avid outdoorsman. From the time he could walk, he spent his days first in his sand pile, playing with trucks (where his Mother could watch him out the kitchen window), and then moved on to shooting his BB gun and helping with farm chores. As an adult, he never missed opening day of deer hunting season or the opportunity to go fishing with friends. Jeff was a long-time member of the Cataract Sportsmen's Club, and could always be found trap shooting or enjoying time with friends at Sportsmen's Club events. He loved the Packers, the Brewers, mangy dogs, ice cream, fresh venison and cold beer.
In 1979, Jeff graduated from Melrose-Mindoro High School, and in 1991, from U.W. Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree in Resource Management and a minor in Wildlife. After graduation, Jeff moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, where he worked in Natural Resources at Fort Chaffee. Jeff then returned to Wisconsin where he worked at Fort McCoy as the coordinator of Integrated Training Area Management. In that capacity, he was the liaison between the Natural Resources Department and military training personnel.
Jeff never married, and is survived by his brother David of Maysville, GA; and sisters, Judy (Raymond) Sommers of Bangor, WI; Barbara Tyler of Wilkeson, WA; Linda (Richard Voelker) Bullen of Las Vegas, NV; Nancy (Ron) Baumer of Monticello, MN; and Kathy (Scott) Strecker of Chippewa Falls, WI; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse in 2004, and Nadine in 2007.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cataract Cemetery, Cataract, WI, with a reception immediately following at the Cataract Sportsmen's Club. Please join the family and his many friends on that day to honor Bullhead, and to say farewell. Online condolences may be offered at www.lanham-miller.com
