My Husband, Merritt P.C. Snyder's, Mother, my Mother-in-Law which unfortunately I never got to meet, Irene "Polly" Dawes Merritt Snyder is missed by many as she passed away at a young age, when Merritt was only 16 years old. The loss of Merritt's Mother was a tragic loss for both him and his Sister, Laura "Pam" Snyder who is a couple years older than Merritt as well as her Husband and Merritt and Laura's Father, Howard P. Snyder, M.D..
Irene Dawes Merritt was born and grew up in Bruce, Wisconsin along with her Sister, Jane Merritt Mortensen Phaneuf and her Brother, Richard Merritt. She was the Daugher of Edward Dawes Merritt and Margaret Merritt. The Merritt's managed Stubbs General Store in Weyerhauser, Wisconsin back in the early 1900's. In addition, Edward and Margaret were involved in the Taconite Mining Trade of Northern Minnesota.
Irene Dawes Merritt was born into a family of Privaledge, living and growing up, along with her Sister, Jane, with their Aunt, Laura A. Day of Day Banking and Mininig Company on Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Irene was a Graduate of Rosemary Hall, attended Dartmouth and went to Private School with one of the Woolworth Daughter's of Woolworth Department Stores.
Son, Merritt P.C. Snyder is married to Melinda K. Morse, R.N. and they live on the Kitsap Peninsula in Port Orchard, Washington. Merritt is Retired. Melinda is a Correctional Nurse and works for Seattle and King County Public Health. Merritt has three Children, Andrew H. Snyder (Juta Snyder), Irene Dawes Snyder and Merritt P.D. Snyder (Angela) and one Granddaughter, Jillian.
Laura "Pam" lives in Imperia, Italy and has lived in Italy for many years. Laura lives near her Daughter and Son-in-Law and her two Grandchildren.
Aunt Jane, Irene's Sister, has passed away several years ago as has Jane's daughter and Irene's Niece, Marie, Aunt Jane's Son and Irene's Nephew and another Nephew, Son of Brother, Richard, Richard. Nieces Mildred and Marlene and Nephew Carl live between Florida and Minnnesota.
