My Great-Aunt Elsie was born in a Farmhouse near the Nelson Family Farm south of Moscow, Idaho. After Aunt Elsie's birth, the family moved to the Farmhouse on the Nelson Family Farm and this is where Aunt Elsie's two Sister's and seven Brother's were born.

Aunt Elsie's Mother and Father came to America from Sweden and homesteaded what later became the Nelson Family Farm south of Mosocw, Idaho, several hundred acres. Aunt Elsie loved the Nelson Family Farm which remained in the Family for Generations, with the final 5 acre plot being sold in 2003.

I have very fond memories of my Aunt Elsie who always loved to come out to the Nelson Family Farm to visit those family members living on the Farm at the time, Myrtle and Fred Nelson (Brother and Sister-in-Law) and my Family, Jack and Diana (Nelson) Morse (Niece and Nephew), Eugene, Chandie, Connie and Myself.

Aunt Elsie was a University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho, graduate in Home Economics and was the Manager and Ran the Moscow Hotel Restaurant for multiple years.

Aunt Elsie was 100% Swedish, her Parents came to the United States from Sweden and homesteaded what became the Nelson Family Farm south of Moscow, Idaho. Elsie spoke fluent Swedish and was very interested in her Heritage and took the Queen Elizabeth - Transatlantic Cruise on more than one occasion to visit Relatives who remained in Stockholm, Sweden and on the Swedish Island of Oland. I heard many, many stories of Elsie's travels, her Heritage and that of my Maternal Grandfather, Fred E. Nelson, the entire time I was growing up in Moscow, Idaho.

Aunt Elsie, after leaving the Farm, lived in town in Moscow, Idaho. I have fond memories of my Family visiting Aunt Elsie and her Brother, "Whitey" who lived with her until he passed away, after he lost two wives and of both Aunt Elsie and "Whitey" coming out to the Nelson Family Farm for Holiday Dinners with our Family. Aunt Elsie never married.

When I was in Junior High School, my Aunt Elsie wrote a Book about her Parent's and their Swedish Heritage and of the Nelson Family Farm homesteaded by them as well as her travels to the homeland, Stockholm, Sweden and the Swedish Island of Oland. The name of the Book is "Today is Ours," and it was published and sold in Bookstores, probably can still get from a Bookstore. I put in many long hours typing and helping my Aunt Elsie edit "Today is Ours," and was present at the Booksigning Party at the Moscow Hotel, sitting right beside my Aunt Elsie.

Another time, I took a trip to Spokane, WA with my Aunt Elsie, we went by Greyhound Bus and I was in Junior High School, it was a fun and very interesting trip!

While I was in High School, I used to go spend the night with my Aunt Elsie, I loved to visit with her and she lived a nice walking distance from the High School.

All the things my Aunt Elsie used to bake, "Stollen," and you better pronounce it right and all kinds of other sweets.

I have very fond Memories of my Aunt Elsie and know someday we will all be together again, sharing her favorite Christmas dessert, "Stollen," and Baked Pudding with Brandy and Hard Sauce, nothing like it!
