SMITHFIELD - Henry Woodrow Crook, age 88, of Crook Lane, died on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at his residence. He was a native of Stanley County, N.C., and the son of the late Henrietta Austin and James E. Crook. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 24 years of service and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include wife, Jacqueline Olsen Crook; daughter, Margaret C. Walker and her husband, David, Gloucester Point; two sons, Larry Richard Crook and his wife, Chandler, of Chesapeake and H. Woodrow Crook Jr. of Smithfield; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield, with the Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Isle of Wight Chapter, c/o Lois R. Little, P.O. Box 659, Smithfield, VA 23431-0659. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
