Suffolk - Ruth White Myers, 75, a native of Winston Salem, N.C., and retired horticulturist, died Saturday, Oct. 5. Mrs. Myers was a member of the Hidenwood Garden Club, Newport News; the Village Garden Club, Chuckatuck; and a charter and active member of the Bridge Point Farms Civic League and the Suffolk Brush and Pallet Club. She was also a 31-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Newport News. Survived by her husband, Emmett M. Myers; two daughters, Susan E. Myers of Brattleboro, Vt., and Barbara W. Myers of Atlantic Heights, N.J.; a son, David V. Myers of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and five grandchildren. Family will receive friends at 1460 Bridge Point Trail, Suffolk, from 3 to 6 p.m. today. Funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Newport News, by the Revs. Chip Austin and Tom Bosserman. Burial will be in St. Luke's Memorial Park, Smithfield. Memorials to the Ruth W. Myers Memorial Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, 6807 Huntington Ave., Newport News 23607. Colonial Funeral Home in charge.
