Grandpa Johnnie was drafted during WWII and underwent cook and bakery training. He was shipped overseas and returned on the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mary as a troop transport. He was stationed in Warrington,England where he met Peggy Murphy on a blind date with another GI and Peggy's friend. They dated for about 2 years in England and wed in Lebanon, Mo at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Johnnie and Peggy were the parents of 3 children and lived on a 78 acre farm near Organna, Mo. The Brown family had lived or owned that 78 acres since about 1915 and finally sold it in Jan 2006.
