Age 87, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2016. She was born May 24, 1929 the daughter of Hilary and Bernita (Simon) Snitgen. Eileen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society, and the rosary group. She worked at the bank for 44 years, was a Spartan fan and loved the color pink, flowers, feeding and watching birds. Eileen enjoyed being at her home and was a caring person to all. Her family especially the grandchildren were her greatest love. Eileen is preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Frederick; brothers-in-law, Herman Thelen, Donald Thelen; sister Dorothea (Melvin) Smith. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward; children, Julie (Duane) Feldpausch of DeWitt, Ted (Gayle) Spitzley of Caledonia, Kay Lea (Gerry) Schneider of Westphalia; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bernadette Thelen and Therese Thelen. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-8p.m., Thursday at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St.,Westphalia MI.
