Joseph Berry Allen died on September 20, 1938 at his home in Nine Mile Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife, Almeda; and daughter, Edith Wagner. He is survived by two sons, Leslie F. Allen and Alva M. Allen, both of Spokane; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was a charter member of Mountain Slope Lodge No. 186 A. F. & A. M. in Oberlin, Kansas. He had been a resident of the Spokane area for 35 years and was a member of Centenary Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home Alwin Chapel with Rev. R. W. Maulden officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
