Funeral services for Arnold Lee Sills, 61, of 218 Vandergriff street, will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m., from Wright and Ferguson Chapel, with the Rev. Jack D. Nazary, pastor of West Park Baptist church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Henry Joe Bennett, pastor of Byram Bapist church, and the Rev. W. R. Storie, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist church. He died early Wednesday morning at his home. A retired farmer, he was a native of New Hebron where he lived until coming to Jackson about six years ago. He was a member of the West Jackson Baptist church, and the New Hebron Masonic Lodge No. 508. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Carrie Miley Sills; one son, Milford L. Sills, of Terry; one daughter, Mrs. C. W. Southern, of Jackson; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Dodson Sills, of Hattiesburg, and five brothers, T. S. Sills, of Jackson, H. N. Sills, J. I. Sills, both of Tunica, Charlie Sills, of Prentiss and B. E. Sills, of Silver Creek; and three sisters, Mrs. C. C. Smith, of Columbia, Mrs. Jennie Fortenberry, of Hattiesburg, and Mrs. M. D. Buckles, of Cleveland, Miss. Interment will be made in Jackson Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be seven of his nephews, Charlie Smith, Olon Smith, both of Columbia, Luther Sills, Roy Sills, Fred Sills, Thomas G. Sills, S. C. Sills, and Thomas Walker, all of Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be his other nephews.
