G. F. Adamson Passes Away.
G. F. "Fred" Adamson died at his home in this city Tuesday evening after a lingering illness of eight years. The funeral services were held at 3 p. m. Wednesday, December 9 at the M. E. church with Rev. Ira Glenn and the G. A. R. in charge. The funeral text was Job 14:10. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
George Frederick Adamson was born Dec. 9, 1844 and lacked but one day of being 70 years of age when death relieved his suffering.
He enlisted August 14, 1862 at Zanesville, Ohio with Co. K of the 97th Ohio Vol. Inf. and was discharged at Columbus, Ohio on June 15, 1865. He was married to Susan W. Deitrick in 1867 and the same year they both united with the Bethel M. E. Church, having been converted at a meeting being held at that time. After the death of his first wife, March 15, 1884, he was married to Margaret C. Milam Dec. 23, 1888. Eight children were born to the first union; of whom six survive. A daughter, Mrs. Ada Delameter of Bartlesville, Okla., is the only child by the second marriage.
Mr. Adamson was a genial, whole-souled man and his every acquaintance was a friend. The SUN joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
