Services for Signa ``Betty'' Brown, 83, of 218 Tilden Drive, East Syracuse, who died Wednesday at Howard University Hospital, Washington, D.C., will be at 11 a.m. Monday in DeWitt Community Church. Spring burial will be in Collamer Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home, 241 Kinne St., East Syracuse. Order of the Eastern Star services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A native of Jordan, Mrs. Brown lived in East Syracuse 49 years. She retired in 1968 after 17 years with the food service cafeteria department of the North Syracuse Central School District. Her husband, Claude, died in 1988.

Mrs. Brown was a member of the Onondaga Chapter 119, Order of the Amaranth, and a former member of Ilderim Temple 15, Daughters of the Nile. She was a past matron of Fayetteville-Onondaga Chapter 144, OES, and an honorary member of Bona Fide Chapter 567, OES. She also was a member of the Onondaga County Women's Republican Club.

Surviving are a son, James of East Syracuse; a daughter, Nancy Bakken of Cambridge, Wis.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Contributions may be made to Howard University Hospital in care of her son, 5759 N. Burdick St., East Syracuse.
