Alva, Oklahoma
Funeral services for Linwood Guthrie Baker, 52, who died Thursday at his home in Freedom, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Freedom Nazarene Church. Rev. George Petry will officiate and burial will be in Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Case-Hill Funeral Home. Mr. Baker was born on June 21, 1918 near Freedom and served with the U. S. Army during World War II. He lived in California for a number of years and was employed by North American Aviation. He returned to the Freedom area in 1967. He was married to Margaret Nye on July 7, 1942. He was a member of Freedom American Legion, serving currently as vice-commander. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Baker; and a brother, Jack Baker. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; son, James H. Baker of Freedom; daughter, Linda Baker of Pasadena, California; his father, William Baker of Freedom; a brother, James Baker of Bellflower, California; and two grandchildren.
