Betty Lou Adams went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 10, 2003.

She is survived by her husband, Bill W. Adams, of Powhatan; her sons and their wives, Terry and Evelyn Adams, of Powhatan, and Tim and Lisa Adams, of Powhatan; her brother and his wife, Lynn and Lesley Ritenour, of Richmond; grandsons, Derrick Adams, Nathan Adams, and Joshua Adams, all of Powhatan; granddaughter, Adriane Adams, of Powhatan; granddaughters and their husbands, Tina and Kevin O'Hara, of Chesterfield, Shannon and Pat Lewis, of Santa Fe, N.M.; great-grandchildren, Harley O'Hara, of Chesterfield, and Aidan Lewis, of Santa Fe, N.M.; sons and daughters at heart, Mark and Maresa Spangler and Sean Spangler; aunt and uncle, Greta and Bernard Kelley; godson, Ben Michaels; and other extended family and loving friends.

Betty Adams was an active Christian in Old Powhatan Baptist Church. She served as Sunday School childrens teacher for 11 years, WMU Director for 12 years, Baptismal Committee, Youth Director, Middle District Representative, Nominating Committee, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Chairman of the Building Committee, as well as many civic and church sponsored activities within the Powhatan County area.

Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Old Powhatan Baptist Church Building Fund, 2202 Old Church Rd., Powhatan, Va. 23139.
