Jesse Martin Ramey, 16000 Somerset Road, Waynesburg, died Saturday, June 1, 1996, at Central Baptist Hospital Lexington. He was 82.

He was born Feb. 6, 1914, in Paintsville, KY., son of the late John Coons and Evelena Brown Ramey. He was the retired owner and operator of Ramey's Steel Products, Waynesburg; a Kentucky Colonel; and member of American Chemical Society and the Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, John Martin Ramey, Freeport TX; two daughters, Patricia Jo Mullins, Corbin, and Mary Bernice Rogers, Floyds Knobs, Ind; and a sister, Venus Ramey, Waynesburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Young Ramey; his parents; and a brother, John Wallace Ramey.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Rodney Hale officiating. Burial was in the Eubank Cemetery.
