Mrs. Chastain Buried Today
Mrs. J. M. Chastain died at 10 o'clock Sunday night at the home of her son, Theo Chastain, 906 Maple Street.
The former Florence A. Parham, she was born December 8, 1869 and had been a resident of Floyd County for 35 years. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 21, 1923.
Mrs. Chastain is survived by four sons: Theo Chastain of Rome; Sam Chastain of Coo?? (Coosa?); Frank V. Chastain of Atlanta; J. P. Chastain of Blue Ridge, three brothers: Henry J. Parham of Atlanta; R. L. Parham of Dayton, Tenn.; and R. M. Parham of Chattanooga, three sisters: Mrs. Charles Keown of Adairsville; Mrs. Henry Cook of Shannon; and Mrs. Walter Baker of Summerville, 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev. L. L. Hurley, Pastor of the Maple Street Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jack Bridges, Pastor of the Lakewood Heights Baptist Church of Atlanta, officiated. Burial was in the family lot in Pisgah Cemetery.
Pallbearers included C. A. Fricks, Edwin Barnette, Carl Chapman, Roy Broome, R. A. McDonald and J. V. Wheeler.
