Billy Eugene White, 64, of Dayton, went to be with his Lord May 13, 2008 at Parkridge Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.
He was born December 9, 1943 in Dayton, and was a life-long resident of Rhea County.

Bill served his country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He had been employed by Dayton Products and was a member of the American Legion Post 100, Kiuka Fire Department, president of the Morgantown Fire Association and a volunteer for Senior Citizens Awareness. He was a member of the Vine Grove United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Smith) White, his parents, Henry J. "Bud" and Virginia (Dodd) White; sisters, Margie Shook and Pat Miles; brother, Felix White; grandson, Jeffery Smith; stepdaughter, Angie Swafford Wilkie; step-son, James David Swafford; and son-in-law Timothy Smith.

He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Smith and LaWanda (Andy) Miles of Graysville, Tenn., Donna (Tom) Clark of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Vickie (Jim) Fann of Dayton and Melissa (Brent) Travis of Evensville; former wife, Iva White Beasley of Graysville; fiancée, Karen Iles Love of Graysville, grandson, Dillon Creasman, whom he raised; stepmother, Hettie Deloris Watts of Dunlap; brothers, Jimbo (Wilma) White of Dayton, Wayne White of Brayton Mountain, Tenn., Henry White and Larry Dykes of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sisters, Becky (Carl) Porter of Spring City and Dorothy (Doyle) Lewis of Brayton Mountain, Tenn., Regina Stanfield, Pat Shaw and Brenda Parker of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Bill were held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glenn Moseley and Rev. Lynn Thompson officiating. Burial with full military honors followed at the Spivey Cemetery followed by a white dove release.

The family was served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, where they will receive friends Thursday after 2:00 p.m.
