Mrs. Elizabeth Gunn, who died on Friday morning at 12:20 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. C. K. Walter, in the city, had reached the age of 77 years, 6 months and 4 days, when death clamed her. She was a consecrated Christian women, and for the last few months of her life had been confined to a bed of suffering, which she bore with becoming patience and fortitude.
She was a native of North Carolina, but removed to Texas in 1854, and has resided in Gonzales county for more then half a century. Her husband, Capt. Wm. Gunn, died June, 1884. For the past 16 years Mrs. Gunn has resided in this city with her daughter.
Five children survive her, as follows: Mrs. O. K. Walter, Gonzales; Mrs. W. P. Gunn, Stieren; Mrs. Wm. Foster, Waelder; Jno M. Gunn, Hochheim, and Mrs. J. T. Campbell, Waelder.
The remains were laid at rest in Thompsonville cemetery yesterday morning in the presence of many relatives and friends, services being conducted by Rev. Wilson, of the M. E. church south.
