Mandy Ellen Demmert

Mandy Ellen Demmert, 8, of Kingston died Monday at Childrens Hospital in Seattle after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Bremerton to Wade and Jo Ann (Swain) Demmert.

Her favorite pastimes were crafts, collecting Beanie Babies and watching cartoons. She loved attending Gordon Elementary School in Kingston.

She also enjoyed participating in activities at Bayside Community Church in Kingston. She was a member of the childrens choir there.

Survivors include her parents; her brother and sister, Kwyn and Christina Demmert; her paternal grandparents, Lee and Shirley Demmert of Kingston and her maternal grandparents, Farrell and Jo Ann Swain of Sitka, Alaska.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove, 22272 Foss Road NE in Poulsbo. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bayside Community Church. Those attending the service are asked to honor Mandy by wearing something pink, her favorite color.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mandy Demmert Fund, c/o Bayside Community Church, P.O. Box 250, Kingston, WA 98346.
