VOYDAT, Linda Lory-- of Boulder Creek, CA died September 4, from renal cell carcinoma. She fought her disease since 1988.

Linda was born in Palo Alto, CA on June 28, 1957, and delivered by her father, Stephen R. Voydat, M.D., with her mother, Marion Voydat, nee Adams.

She is survived by both parents and by her beloved brothers, Stephen, Robert, and James; her wonderful sisters-in-law Rhonda and Sherri; her adorable nephews and nieces and countless aunts, uncles and cousins.

Linda first graduated from De Anza Jr. College Automotive Technology program in 1977. She worked in the auto industry for many years and also enjoyed motorcycle and auto racing. She rode motorcycles for 25 years, and was a fixture at Alice's Restaurant in Woodside, CA. Other hobbies included blues singing, (her greatest night was the opportunity to sing with Janis Joplin's band, Big Brother and the Holding Co. at Polookaville, Santa Cruz); playing guitar and flying airplanes, writing poetry and cooking.

Linda graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Santa Clara University in 1985 with a B.S. in Anthropology. She studied abroad in Italy and learned to speak the language fluently and to appreciate Italian cooking and culture. She also spent time doing research in Ireland and visiting her pen pal of 20 years.

She returned to Santa Clara to attend graduate school after having a supporting role in an Italian movie filmed in Assisi, the home of St.Francis.

In 1988 Linda graduated from law school after studying International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, specializing in Terrorism. Linda passed the California Bar Exam in 1989 and immediately went to work as a trial attorney with CSAA or Triple A. She stayed with CSAA for 10 years, trying cases in Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

In 1990 Linda moved to Boulder Creek, enjoying some of the best times of her life due to her wonderful family and friends, and such a peaceful place to
live.

A memorial service to be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at 12 noon at St. Michael's Church, 13005 Pine St., Boulder Creek, CA. Donations preferred to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org.

A private committal has taken place under the direction of BENITO AND AZZARO PACIFIC GARDENS CHAPEL, 1050 Cayuga Street, Santa Cruz, CA.
