When James and Rosa moved from Georgia to Texas they changed their name from Costley/Cosley to Robinson. Robinson is her mother's maiden name. The Genealogist at the Genealogy Library at Wallace State College in Hanceville, Cullman, Alabama said that happened frequently when people moved and did not want to be found.
There are many reasons why they wouldn't want to be found. Supposedly there is a book in the Troup County, Georgia Library that discusses James & Rosa and why they changed their names. I have not been able to verify that book exists.
I have talked to two of the grandchildren and both said they knew of the name change; but, no one would talk about it. The name change, at this time, remains a mystery and one that may never be solved.
