Chester Corron Stricken Friday
Chester D. Corron, retired Southern Pacific locomotive engineer and former resident of Sparks for more than 30 years, died Friday Morning at a local hospital. He was 77.
Mr. Corron was born in Star, Ida., April 1, 1884, the youngest of 13 children. He moved to Sparks in 1923 from Nampa, Ida., and entered the employ of the S.P. as a locomotive fireman. Later he was promoted to engineer and continued to run trains out of Sparks until his retirement in 1954. Following his retirement he moved to Fresno where he made his home with a niece.
About a month ago Mr. Corron returned to Reno to reside here with a daughter, Mrs. Mary Holst. His wife, Mary Ellen Corron, preceded him in death in 1947.
Besides Mrs. Holst he is survived by four other daughters, Mrs. Minnie Harvey, Litchfield, Calif., Mrs. Eldean McNeil and Mrs. Sylvia Drake, both of Anderson, Calif., and Mrs. Gertude Nauyoks of Wendel, Calif., and one son, Frank A. Corron, Aurora, Minn. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
funeral service is tentatively scheduled Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock at the Ross-Burke Co. Chapel, with burial to follow beside his wife in the IOOF section of Mountain View cemetery.

Corron of Aurora, Minn., Mrs. Minnie Harvey of Litchfield, Calif., Mrs. Gertrude Nauyoks of Wendel., Calif., Mrs. Eldean McNeal of Anderson, Calif., Mrs. Sylva Drake of Anderson, and Mrs. Mary Holst of Reno. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren; brother Harry Corron of San Leandro, George Corron of Seattle, Wash. and Mrs. Fred Breshears of Homedale, Idaho. A native of Star, Idaho.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ross-Burke Co. __________________________________________________
