Obituary:

Pedro Trujillo Alirez, 72, a resident of Central, died Thursday in Truth or Consequences. He was born May 12, 1915 in San Juan and was a lifelong resident of Grant County; was a veteran of World War II; had been employed by the Chino Mines; and was a member of the Santa Clara Catholic Church. Calling hours will be from 2-9 p.m. today with rosary service at 7 p.m. in Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Christian burial will be held Tuesday morning at 10 in the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Central with the Rev. Paul Ragazinskas officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Allingham-Golding Post No. 18 of the American Legion conducting veteran honors. Survivors are his wife, Estela, of Central; one daughter, Lilia Alirez of Central; and two sisters, Simona Alirez of Central and Equiteria Lockwood of Bayard. Casket bearers will be Lorenzo Atencio, Robert Garcia, Tommy Garcia, Frankie Jimenez, Freddie Jimenez and Danny Parra. Honorary bearers will be Joseph Rodriguez and Robert Alirez. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels.
