Ferris Theodore Bolyard, 87, of Morgantown, formerly of Kingwood, died Monday, July 23, 2001, at Monongalia General Hospital.

He was born Aug. 13, 1913, in Albright, son of the late Alva Bolyard and Elvada Wolfe Bolyard.

He was a retired Preston County Board of Education employee. He had also worked for the West Virginia Northern Railroad, Farmer's Supply of Kingwood, and in the mining and timber business. He was also a member of the Kingwood Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by three daughters and spouses, Shela and Dale Frum, of Masontown, Sharyn and Ron Tourville, of San Mateo, Fla., and Ferrie Ann and Carl Ball, of Denton, Md.; two sons and spouses, Glenn and Mary Bolyard, of Palm Bay, Fla., and John and Judy Bolyard, of Morgantown; a sister, Mattie O. Brady, of Lorain Manor Nursing Home, Lorain, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Effie O. Hoffman Bolyard, on March 19, 1999; two brothers, Darlington Ray Bolyard, and Carl Edwin Bolyard; three sisters, Virginia Irene Bolyard, Betty Geraldine Bolyard, and Lalah Gertrude Speelman Riggins; and his stepmother, Ethel Ferrell Bolyard.

Friends may call at Waldeck Funeral Home, Masontown, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. Friday, July 27, until the 11 a.m. service, with the Rev. Greg Kasler officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood.
