PLAINVIEW MAN KILLED

Morrison, Colo. (AP) - Ivan Roy Barrett, 39, of Plainview, Tex., died in a
highway accident near here Thursday, soon after his truck and another
vehicle sideswiped on U.S. 285.

Police say Barrett's truck failed to make a curve about 2 miles from the
collision site, skidded and rolled nearly 300 feet.
Barrett was pinned in the wreckage of his tractor and suffered multiple
internal injuries.

SERVICES PENDING

Barrett moved to Plainview about 18 months ago from Delta, Colo., where
he had lived several years. He was born and reared in Missouri.
Funeral services and burial are expected to be in Delta. Time has not been set.

Sources in Plainview said Barrett is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Barrett;
three children, Carolyn 15, Sharon 12, and David, 4.
The family left late Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cox, operators of
Frank's Fruit Market, for Colorado.
Barrett was employed by Frank's Fruit Market. He was driving a truck owned by
that market. It was loaded with fruit. Barrett, for the last three weeks, had been
hauling fruit from Colorado to Utah and Idaho, and other loads from Utah to
Idaho into Colorado.
