Actor. He is best remembered for his role as the angel Pygar in the 1968 Roger Vadim science fiction classic film, "Barbarella", which also starred Jane Fonda. Born in Hollywood, California, to Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy John Law and actress Phyllis Sallee, he decided to become an actor after taking drama classes at the University of Hawaii. Highly fluent in German, Italian, French, and Spanish, Law moved to New York in the early 1960s and studied with the likes of Elia Kazan at the Lincoln Center Repertory Theater in New York before landing parts in Broadway plays. He also went on to appear in several low budget Italian films before being discovered by famed director Norman Jewison and ultimately cast as the young submariner Alexei Kolchin in his 1966 Cold War comedy film, "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming", for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe.
