WEST UNION, Ill. - Beulah B. Gurley, 95, of West Union died at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in Crawford Memorial Hospital's extended care unit, in Robinson.
She was a homemaker.
She was born Aug. 10, 1906, in Melrose Township, Clark County, to Edwin Nidey and Clara Ralston Nidey.
Her husband, Ernest M. Gurley, whom she married May 9, 1925, died Jan. 23, 1989.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Forrest and Barbara Gurley of Covington, Ind.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Dale Poorman of West Union, Linda and Emmitt Rains of rural Hutsonville, and Martha Jane and Richard Weck of rural Annapolis; a daughter-in-law, Ada Gurley of Terre Haute, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sons, Morris Lee Gurley in 1993, Roger Keith Gurley, and infant sons, Robert Gurley and Mervin Gurley; three brothers, Russell Nidey, Howard Nidey and Randall Nidey; and two sisters, Lottie Guyer and Zola Evans Higginbotham.
She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Services are 11 a.m. CST Tuesday in Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Gene Ellis officiating.
Burial is in Guyer Cemetery, southwest of West Union. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today and 7 a.m. until services Tuesday.
