Ernest M. Gurley, 86, of Rt. 1 West Union, died at 11:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 1989 at Burnsides Nursing Home, Marshall, IL.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, Thursday at Prust- Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union, with Pastor Earl Webb and the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating.
Burial was in Guyer Cemetery, east of Annapolis.
He was born Feb. 15, 1902, in Hutsonville Township, Crawford County, Ill, to Charles and Clarissa (Rains) Gurley.
He was a retired farmer and member of the West Union Ruritan Club.
Surviving are his wife, Beulah (Nidey) Gurley; sons, Morris Gurley of rural Robinson and Forrest Gurley of Covington, Ind.; daughters, Carolyn Poorman of Rural West Union, Linda Rains of rural Hutsonville, and Martha Jane Weck of rural Annapolis; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
