She was the 7th child in a family of 10 children, 8 girls and 2 boys. The father, Pearl Medsker, Dorothy Guyer and one infant daughter preceding her. The mother of Hutsonville Illinois, Homer of Marshall, IL, Mrs E. E. Evans, Casey, IL, Fred of Covina, Calif., Mrs. Harry Guyer, West York, Mrs. Lee Guyer, Hutsonville, IL., and Mrs. Noel Johnson, Anna, IL, surviving her.
On Oct. 8, 1913 she was united in marriage to Earl Gurley.
To this union was born four children. Leah Maxine, Marjorie Lenora, Earl Robert and one infant daughter.
She was converted in early life under the ministry of her brother, Fred and later united with the Friends Church of which she has been a faithful member almost 16 years. Her life while not so outwardly demonstrative, consisted of self-sacrifice, shedding a radiance of happiness for her own house hold and community. She has made a home and cared for her mother the most of the time for the past nine years, although suffering with a chronic affliction for several years, which she bore with patience and Christian fortitude.
Besides the above mentioned, the husband and 4 children, a host of relatives and friends mourn their loss.
The funeral services were held at the Friends Church at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon with interment in the
Guyer Cemetery.
