Janie Gurley, the only daughter of Webster and Lora Tuttle, was born 2 Nov 1898, departed this life 2 Dec 1935, aged 37y 1m.

On 3 Apr 1920, she was united in marriage to Emory Gurley. To this union was born 2 children, a son and a daughter.

Soon after her marriage, she was converted and joined the Friends Church to which she willingly gave of her services to promote the Kingdom of God in the hearts of humanity, having served in the capacity of Sunday School teacher of the children's class for the past few years. One of the greatest desires of her life was the happiness of her home and her devoutness to her family, ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, were among her outstanding characteristics. While the last days of her life were spent in extreme suffering, she manifested her deep founded faith in her Savior, often expressing a desire for her life to be spared to care for her family but if her time had come she was ready to go.

Besides the Church losing a faithful member, she leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, a son Loyd Edgar and daughter Leola May, her aged father and mother, 2 brothers, Jessie of West York and George of Hutsonville with a host of relatives and friends who deeply feel the loss of hand of death hath wrought us
