A Wilkinsburg couple was sentenced on Monday in Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas for the shooting death of a Linton Middle School student. Bruno Boyd, 26, was sentenced by Judge Robert E. Colville to nine to 18 months in prison. Alisha Frederick, 21, was sentenced to two to four years.
Mike Manko, the district attorney's office spokesman, would not comment about the sentences.
The couple pleaded guilty in July in the death of Brittany Cambric, 13.
Frederick pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment of another person. Boyd pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment.
Boyd had faced charges of criminal homicide, involuntary manslaughter, terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
Frederick had been charged with criminal homicide, involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment.
The incident occurred on Jan. 31, when Brittany apparently tried to stop an argument between her cousin, Frederick, and Boyd.
Brittany was spending the night at the couple's home in the 1200 block of Walnut Street in Wilkinsburg to watch their baby.
The gun was owned by Frederick, who had a permit for it, said Allegheny County Police Lt. John Brennan.
Brittany's mother, Sonya Brown, could not be reached for comment.
