Mrs. Mary E. Jones, 79, of 102 Jeannette Drive died of a heart ailment at 1:45 a.m. today in St. Elizabeth Hospital after a 3 1/2 month illness.
Mrs. Jones was born March 20, 1880, in West Calder, Midlothian District, Scotland, a daughter of Hugh and Catherine Agnew Haggerty, and came to Youngstown from Punxsutawney, Pa. She was a member of St. Dominic Church and the Daughters of Pocohantas.
Besides her husband, J. Elisha, to whom she was married in 1899, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. William D. Shaw of Youngstown and Mrs. A.C. Ross of Cincinnati; a brother, William Haggerty of Indiana, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Specht of McKeesport, Pa.; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Thompson-McDowell Funeral Home.
