Mrs. Emmett Elliott, 74, Bonaparte, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.
Her death followed an illness of four months during which she was a patient part of the time at Keosauqua and Iowa City.
Last rites were Monday at 2 p.m. At the Pedrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Taylor, Memphis, Missouri officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
Rose Marie Elliott was born August 18, 1910 at Royal, Iowa, the daughter of Chris and Kristina Larson Anderson. She was married July 10, 1937 to Emmett Elliott at Spencer.
They farmed in Clark County, Missouri for a number of years before moving to the Farmington and Bonaparte communities ten years ago. She was employed as a cook at the Van Buren Memorial Hospital for a number of years. After her retirement she was employed part time at the Bonaparte Retreat Restaurant.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons; Emmett, Jr., Downing, Mo., Otto Francis, Darrell Dean and Jerry, all of Bonaparte; two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Thomas, Stockport and Mrs. Zelma Wallingford, Bonaparte.
Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, one brother, Pete Anderson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Walton, Spencer. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
