Joseph E. Abbamonte, a dedicated husband, loving father, and esteemed professional, passed away on February 17, 2024, at the age of 75. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 3, 1949, Joseph lived a life marked by commitment, compassion, and service.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Susan Abbamonte, sharing decades of companionship, love, and unwavering support. He was a pillar of strength and devotion to his family, serving as a guiding light in

their lives.

As a father, Joseph leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom. He was the cherished father of Joe (Teresa), Sal (Kerri), and Kevin (Susan), imparting invaluable lessons and creating cherished memories with each of his sons. Joseph's role as a father extended beyond blood ties, embracing his children's spouses as his own and fostering deep bonds of kinship and unity.

His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Joseph leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren who were the apples of his eye, each one carrying a piece of his warmth, kindness, and laughter.

Professionally, Joseph distinguished himself as the Safety Environmental Manager at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. His dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of others was evident in every facet of his work. Joseph's commitment to excellence and tireless efforts made a profound impact on his colleagues and the community he served.

Beyond his professional achievements, Joseph will be remembered for his genuine kindness, generous spirit, and unwavering integrity. A visitation for Joseph will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A visitation will occur Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will occur Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 9:45 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 210 South Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst, NY 11757. A committal service will occur Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at St Charles Cemetery, 2010 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
