James David Choisser

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James David Choisser, age 73, on January 14 th , 2024, in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
David was born on August 22 nd , 1950, in Benton, Illinois, and was the youngest son of Jim and Joan Choisser. The family were active members of the community, owning the local evening newspaper for many years.
David was a beloved husband to Cathy (Bell) Choisser. They shared 47 years of joy, laughter, and unwavering love. He peacefully passed away at Elizabeth's House Hospice on Sunday, January 14 th , 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
David graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's in accounting in 1972. His career took him to Dallas, Texas where he met the love of his life, Cathy Bell. David and Cathy married at Cathy's family home in Iowa in November 1976. Cathy and David had two children, Brian (born 1981) and Elizabeth (born 1983). David retired from his career as the Chief Accounting Officer from a Texas oil and gas firm in 2006. He and Cathy then moved to Cummings Cove community in Hendersonville North Carolina where they enjoyed many years of retirement.
David is survived by his loving wife Cathy, son Brian Choisser (Amanda) of Culpeper Virginia, daughter Elizabeth Wortham (Ross and Madison) of Perth Western Australia. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Shirley Bell of Hendersonville North Carolina.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of David's life on Saturday the 20th of January at 1:30pm at the Cummings Cove Golf and Country Club, 943 Lakeledge Ct, Hendersonville, NC
