Sandra L. (Sandy) Norton passed away on December 31, 2023, at Scott's House in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Sandy was born in Toledo, Ohio, on June 17, 1947, to Frank L. and Cora A. (Crookham) Cosner. A resident of East Toledo, Sandy attended Waite High School her freshman year and then transferred to Whitney Vocational High School, also in Toledo, where she was a member of the 1965 graduating class. Her major area of study at Whitney was in the Health Service field.

In 1968, she married Robert A. Norton, son of Glenn F. and Elizabeth (Campbell) Norton, and several years into the marriage, they had one child – Adam. Bob was in the military so he and Sandy moved to where he was stationed: Oklahoma and Hawaii, and when he was out of the service – they moved to the Denver area, where Sandy lived for sixteen years. During that period, her marriage had been dissolved.

Sandy began working for Bell Telephone in 1968, leaving there in 1982 when the AT&T divesture occurred. She then worked for McDonnell Douglas developing computer training programs for systems sold to Bell. When that company shut down in 1986, Sandy was hired with a three-year contract by a consulting firm which required her and Adam to move to Tuscon, Arizona, where she worked with the University of Arizona. Following that, she was hired in 1989 by a major company in Houston but six weeks after moving to Houston, the division where she was working shut down. After a couple of stints with smaller companies, she accepted a position in 1989 in Dallas with a former colleague and she worked there for twenty-one years. Eventually she started her own company building websites. She disliked the Dallas weather so she moved to Taos, New Mexico, where she remained for about six years. Deciding that she needed a bigger town in which to build her business, she moved in 2019 to Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was at that time that she received the cancer diagnosis that turned her world upside down.

Besides her skill in designing websites, Sandy was skilled in a number of other areas including woodworking, genealogy, cooking, canning, and being an expert seamstress - a skill that she likely learned from her mother. The handbags she designed and sewed were simply beautiful!

Sandy is survived by her son, Adam Norton, of Dallas, TX; and brothers, James and Frank Cosner. She was preceded in death by her parents.
