STEWART ELMO WRIGHT, 83, of Hollybrook, VA, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at his home. He was born April 11, 1934 at Hollybrook, VA, the son of the late Donald Elbert & Nina Florence Sarver Wright. He was a veteran of the United States Army and member of the Bland VFW Post # 7969. He retired from the Bland Correctional Facility where he was a sawmill operator and an officer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Diane Fisher Wright, two brothers, Richard and Jerry Wright, and a sister, Ruby Pauley.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Kevin Stewart Wright; his grandchildren, Tiffany & James Quick, Whitney & Tray Vincett, Tyler Wright, Donathan Wright, Kaitlyn Phillips and Bryanna Wright; a great-grandchild, Dakota Quick, with one on the way; and sisters & brothers-in-law, Elaine & Lewis Havens, Joann & Elwood Waddle and Billy Pauley.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with Henry Allen Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Field Cemetery, Hollybrook. Military rites will be provided by the Bland VFW Post #7969 and Bland American Legion Post # 20. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.
